Two Wine Scholar Certifications are offered at Northwest Wine Academy.

Advanced Wines of the World France/French Wine Scholar Certification

This course is offered every Winter Quarter and is taught by Tanya Morning Star Darling. The course covers the diverse regions and wines of France in depth over an entire quarter devoted exclusively to the wines of France; their history, culture, wines, traditions, current trends, and exceptional producers. This course is a partnership between the Northwest Wine Academy and the Wine Scholar Guild, and through this course, students have the opportunity to take the French Wine Scholar Certification exam, and achieve the prestigious FWS post-nominal. *Representative wines are sampled in every class.

This course offered every Spring Quarter and is taught by Tanya Morning Star Darling. The course covers the diverse regions and wines of Italy in depth over an entire quarter devoted exclusively to Italy’s 20 wine regions; their history, culture, wines, traditions, current trends & exceptional producers. This course is a partnership between the Northwest Wine Academy and the Wine Scholar Guild, and through this course, students will have the opportunity to take the Italian Wine Scholar Certification exam, and achieve the prestigious IWS post-nominal. *Representative wines are sampled in every class.
